It is dedicated to ensure: # to be a management and operations tool # to be an entry point for all Egee actors for their operational needs # to manage the available informations about EGEE VOs and related VOs # to monitor and ensure grid day-to-day operations on grid resources and services Each actor of Egee will then be able to enter or have access to informations from an operational point of view according to its role into Egee - what we define as an actor's view: # VO views : actions depending upon VO Managers and VO administrator # VO mb views : actions depending upon VO members responsabilities # RC views : actions depending upon RC responsabilities # and so on with COD, ROC and OAG Home section of the portal is public. Other sections are secured using certificates and SSL authentication. ################################### Main changes from v-3.2 ################################### Great changes have been carried out on the CIC operations portal since june, and are included in this version. You'll find below a list of main changes. Background changes ------------------ Main changes in the portal's background are: - Change of the host machine (from a web server to a web cluster) - Database migration from MySQL to Oracle - Source code completely restructured - synchronization mechanisms for easy deployment and replication (CVS) Main gains are: - more robust and faster - failover and replication will be easier - more efficient maintenance and better reactivity Changes in display and ergonomy ------------------------------- The new version uses a new layer and the global aspect has been changed to follow the great lines of EGEE-II graphic chart. We hope that user menus and sections having been redrawn, it will be easier to find information in the portal Specific changes ---------------- * COD dashboard monitoring entry is now based on the SAM framework. The dashboard is interfaced with SAM alarms system, which allows a better detection/classification/follow-up of all problems. Alarms are coupled with GGUS tickets to ensure a better tracability. The whole COD dashboard interface has been improved. Integration of the SAM Admin's page developped at Poznan is on going. * New version of EGEE BROADCAST The tool has been redesigned for a better ergonomy and efficiency. This new version has already been put in production and is part of this release * New Version of the ROC User-Support Map The map has been redrawn to integrate non-european regions. This new version has already been put in production and is part of this release ################################### New features since v-3.2 ################################### New VO registration procedure ----------------------------- The VO registration procedure has been completely redesigned and reimplemented. These changes have been put in production early july and are part of this release.
