It is dedicated to ensure: # to be a management tool for CIC objectives # to be an entry point for all Egee actors for their operational needs # to manage the available informations about Egee's VO # to monitor and ensure grid day-to-day operations on grid resources and services Each actor of Egee will then be able to enter or have access to informations from an operational point of view according to its role into Egee - what we define as an actor's view: # VO views : actions depending upon VO Managers and VO administrator # VO mb views : actions depending upon VO members responsabilities # RC views : actions depending upon RC responsabilities # and so on with CIC, ROC and OAG Home section of this web site is public. Other sections are secured using certificates and SSL authentication. ################################### New features - main changes from v-2.5 ################################### Changes in portal backend : use of Lavoisier -------------------------------------------- For a better efficiency, reliability and maintenability of the CIC portal, some functionalities have already being migrated to use the Lavoisier webservice. Briefly, Lavoisier is a datasource composition service that allows to consider heterogeneous datasources in the same way, to handle cache mechanism, and to clearly separate background from display. All information about Lavoisier is available at http://grid.in2p3.fr/lavoisier. These background changes are not visible for users, but it will allow us to be even more reactive and efficient on maintenance, update and evolution of the CIC portal. VO Management section - VO Dashboard ------------------------------------ The VO management section has been redefined, according to many discussions on this topic with VO representatives. VO ID card have been completed, and contain now much more information. VO resources are presented in a different way, using a high-level view and useful details Monitoring information have been added, so that a VO manager can check what resources he actually has, but also what are their current state (SFT, gstat). Technically, Lavoisier is used to build this high-level view. Profile/role notion has been extended : - VO managers can define VO deputies, that have on the CIC portal the same rights than they have themself - Comments can be added to give more details about the area of expertise of a VO expert - A same person can be manager of many VOs Regional Weekly Reports ----------------------- Many improvements have been made on this topic since last release. Most of them have been put online meanwhile. Here is a summary of these improvements : - ROC reports are automatically generated each friday morning. They report on the following period: friday 00:00 to thursday 23:59 - Each site can edit its part of the report between friday morning and monday morning - Each ROC validate the report and can complete it on monday morning. SFT results are directly got from the SFT database at CERN. Schedule downtimes are got from the GOC DB Technically, Lavoisier is used to get these results. Metrics ------- Operation Metrics are produced and displayed. They are : - Metrics on Operation support, using data from GGUS : number of tickets handled per week per ROC, per CIC-on-duty, response time, etc. - Metrics on SFT results, site availability, schedule downtimes... grouped per site/ROC/Project/period All functionalities existing before 3.0 are of course still available.
